On December 25th, the 200,000-ton/year ion-exchange membrane caustic soda project of Jiangsu Anbang Electrochemical Co., Ltd. was successfully started up in one go. It filled the long-standing gap of the company's lack of an ion-exchange membrane caustic soda plant.

The project started construction in July 2007. Due to the impact of the international financial crisis, it was once postponed in 2008. The construction was restarted in November 2009. The entire production process adopts a DCS control system, a new type of membrane electrode distance electrolytic cell, an automatic ignition and by-product steam-producing hydrogen chloride synthesis furnace, and other advanced equipment and process technologies currently used in chlor-alkali production. It features a high degree of automation and low energy consumption.
